Educational projects designed and implemented by SCCAHS partners and other stakeholders to promote occupational health and safety among employers, families, and workers at the 240,000 farms estimated by the US Department of Agriculture to be operating in the region, as well as forestry and fishery industries.
Materials that can help workers think about safety and health risks they might find at their workplace. They also provide suggestions for how workers can work together with coworkers, employers, and organizations in their communities to make their workplace safer and healthier.
The network of universities and cooperative extension services working on education and research in agriculture, fishing, and forestry in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, has offices and extension agents focused on occupational safety.
