Effectiveness and Implementation of Pain Self-Management for Horticulture Workers | June 4 @ 11 A.M. Eastern

June 4, 2024

While low back pain (LBP) is highly prevalent and potentially disabling, few intervention studies to mitigate LBP have been conducted in physically demanding agriculture settings and no studies have specifically addressed the needs of horticulture workers. Evidence from previous work indicated a high incidence of opioid use attributed to work-related injury or stress. In this upcoming webinar, learn about an ongoing study that is investigating the effectiveness of self-management strategies to increase awareness of opioid risk, manage pain without medication, and adjust work-related ergonomic risk to address this high-priority public health problem. Drs. Kim Dunleavy and Janeen Blythe will discuss the study goals and the design and development of video modules to match the specific needs of nursery and landscape businesses.
